Six M Farm is a picturesque, 150 acre farm in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. From breeding to foaling to retraining, it is all done here! There are 4 stallions who reside here (see our stallion page for more information on the boys!). There are many retired horses also, some who have been here a while now and plenty of new arrivals each month. These horses are owned by responsible racing owners who feel that their racehorses have worked hard and paid their dues and now deserve a helping hand to find their next career and loving human(s).
If the horses arrive with any sort of soundness issues, they are given the appropriate veterinary care and time to heal properly. If they arrive immediately following their last race, they get the chance to learn how to be horses again by gradually being integrated back into farm life! The feed is adjusted for a less active lifestyle and their back shoes are pulled allowing their feet get the chance to toughen up a bit. The horses have current coggins and are kept up-to-date on vaccinations and wormings.
